I have been buried underneath curriculum and school/work-related activities and now I have emerged from underneath the mounds of paper and it’s summer time. I haven’t painted in what seems like forever but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. I’m always over-the-moon busy with either school work, painting, sewing, volunteering or my family. I’m forever intrigued with the term “boredom”. I hope to never know it.
My newest artwork is a logo design for a local farmers’ market in the heart of my neighbourhood. I volunteered my time to do it. I drew out all of the vegetables, pie and jam and then live traced it in Illustrator and added in the type. Choosing the typefaces was probably the hardest part of this entire piece. I’m really happy with the end product and am unveiling it tonight to all the local farmers. I hope they are equally pleased with it. I can’t wait to see it printed and used around the city.
