I met a woman named Kelly in a coffee shop, on the recommendation of a mutual friend. She was looking for some logo designs for her business: she’s an organic farmer. The connection was immediate and I felt like I had known her for years, learning about her work, her life and her goals. After completing the Preston Farmers’ Market logo, I began sketching out ideas for her business: Helios Farms. Kelly wanted a very simple logo, something along the lines of a centered sun rising and the text in a bar at the bottom of the page. She also wanted an Art Deco font for the text. She sketched out her concept and I took it and ran with it. I provided her with 2 options for her logo.
Once Kelly consulted with her partner, she asked me to make a few small adjustments to the logo: remove a rooster and bushes up front in order to emphasize the barn, add in some birds in the background to balance out the open sky space a little bit on the left side and add in some texture. I had no problem with the adjustments. I created a facebook page for the farm today with the new logo and Kelly is excited to populate it with photos and information. I’m excited to start seeing the logo printed and around town. Overall, I’m really happy with the final logo and most important: so is the client!
